70th Anniversary Defender anybody?

90 or 110 built on the bodies just stopped production, not the forthcoming one, V8 with 8 speed auto......... only one small problem - £150,000 a pop for a 90! I see also in today’s Autocar there is a write up about the 2018 facelifted G-Wagen, set to take that icon well into 2020’s

2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I love a nice defender but not £150K

Mine only has 5k on the clock. do you think LR will want to buy it back for a hugely inflated price?!?! 2012 Evoque

However, you just know, even at £150k these will sell out. Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

Probably already have, with most destined for the streets of London to be seen only under the cover of darkness.

The Defender is unpleasant to drive, uncomfortable to be in, outdated and outclassed, does have electronics that can/do go wrong. I'll stick with my RRS thanks... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

You have been made soft with your all electric tank.
The Defender us a great car to drive in fun, it’s better off road and designed to do what it was for.
It’s easy to modify and will be around much longer than TR water pumps Very Happy Very Happy

The RRS is also designed for its use, mothers driving to school runs Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

I hope that for your £150,000 LR has also seen sense to fit them with a chassis that will not turn to dust in 6-7 years like mine did........... With a Galvanised chassis for a 90 costing less than £2000 it shouldn’t be too hard for LR to turn a profit after fitting these specials with one. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Genuinely interested in learning what Defender can do that RRS can’t. Or what can it do better than RRS. All in off-road ability context. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone
Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory
Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond

I take it you've never driven an RRS off road then? Tyre for tyre, the RRS will go anywhere a Defender will (until it runs out of angles). The RRS will also climb and descend stuff that a Defender will scare you half to death doing. It'll do it in total comfort and be able to take you 500+miles in a day without crippling or deafening you.

The same applies to the Disco and the FFRR. Out of the box, the Defender is outclassed and outdated. Sure, you can chuck loads of upgrades at it but it's not really a Defender anymore then, is it? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
