So I went to collect the tyres from the garage that was holding them for the seller. Very big business with huge workshop and many employees. The contact person there had my details. He brought the tyres out for me. I inspected them, correct make/model and condition exactly as explained to me (no damage or repairs, not even minor and pretty much all of the tread still present) - great! Only one “minor” issue - they were 275/40/R22

They are saying they’re not sure what happened, tilting towards blaming the garage for the confusion. Apparently there were 2 cars involved: theirs with 21” wheels and “the boss’s” car with 22”. The term “company fleet” was thrown about by the garage too. The advert clearly said the size I’m after: you found it, I read it carefully too and it is still in my profile to verify. No one is denying what the ad said. Seller tells me they still have the original invoice for the tyres and it mentions the size they put on the ad. I’ve been offered a copy of that invoice but I frankly told them I have no desire to see it as it doesn’t change a thing for me. Why would I care whether it was the seller or the garage that messed it up? It cost me time that they can’t “refund”. Yeah, I knew my money wasn’t at risk as I was paying by PayPal and completing the transaction on eBay. Going there just to have a look or to collect after buying wasn’t going to be any different so felt comfortable with the arrangement of paying without seeing them first. I agree, not the end of the world. If they had shipped the tyres to me, it would have been a bigger headache to arrange return and juggling all of this with work etc. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond |

It is maddening that sellers cannot take time to both proof read, and then ensure they are listing the correct item for sale. How can you get the size mixed up with these larger wheels.

Just being positive about it all ... I got to drive the car alone for a decent amount of time With someone from my family in it with me most of the time, I have to behave myself
