You need to lift the plastic kickplate at the base of the door opening, but you don't need to completely remove it. Just gently pull until the fasteners release to be able to extract the seal.
Then you can pull the seal from around the whole aperture.

Push fit the new seal with the aim to have the join under the kickplate. give it a good bang into place, a rubber mallet helps especially making sure it is seated in the corners. Trim off at the join with approx 3/4 inch overlap then force it to seat. I put a dab of vulcanising glue on the faces where the seal joins.

Tap the kickplate back in, stand back and admire your new door seal

Easy Thumbs Up

That's strange, when I replaced mine it came from L/R already bonded together, in effect making it one piece.

Ah, OK, that might be so for later models. Mine was part number LR044024 for pre facelift RRS1 and it wasn't supplied already joined. It can be used in the front or rear door apertures, so effectively wouldn't be already joined as the two require different lengths.

Just remembered, the new part comes with the paracord inserted which you remove as you push the seal into place which effectively lifts the rubber lip over the internal trim

Same part number for Facelift RRS1 variant, L/R probably saving themselves a few pence by not bonding them now. Laughing

Yes, I edited above to mention its the same part number now for the rear door aperture too, so you're right, LR combining the same part number and supplying without the join.
