Found another bodge on the SVR

The lower grille hasn’t been fitted correctly and the locating tab is over the grille and it’s causing the bumper to bend unevenly.

I’m hesitant to pull too hard as I think the grille may be fixed In one price to the bumper.
I don’t want to damage the paint and I deff don’t want the dealer monkeys attacking it.

Anyone know if this lower grille can be removed? 2012 Evoque

Sally, I am sure that the lower grill can be removed independently of the bumper. But do you have to refer to mechanics and technicians as “monkeys?”

Jas are you saying that its insulting to Monkeys? Wink

I agree Sally i would dread putting the car in for them to try and sort that out. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Jas, I’m married to one! I work in the motor trade.

However, if you have been to my local dealer and experienced their workmanship, you will know they are shocking and such a title is deserving.

I’m not Tarring all mechanics/techs with the same brush, only the ones I know are Censored .

Anyway, a bit of lube and a hard tug, it’s removed! 😂 2012 Evoque

Sally, glad you got it removed.

Sally, Paul, as an ex mechanic myself, it is just a term that gets used in a derogatory way and I know it wasn't meant that way here. And yes, there are plenty of bad and good mechanics out there!

Hello to you all

Well I have now had the car since Wednesday and I can quite honestly say that I am suitably impressed with it. obviously I am not a detailer bu Dariusz had a quick look at it whilst I was away and said he could see nothing major other than the usual crap detailing and finish by JLR...

Apart from that. IMO it is actually better than my 2017 model. I know it is not as loud as the first one but it does get very loud once you hit the 'GO' pedal.

I also love the remodelling of it. From what was a hell of a wild stallion, this version is rounder and more refined in looks.

It is certainly much faster (Bat out of Hell comes to mind) than my last one and even I would say it handles more responsively too.

Much has been said about the seats. I cannot fault mine and have checked them all over and there is no bubbling or poor fitting. They are IMO more comfortable whilst still retaining the 'Bucket' style

Steering wheel I like as it seams fatter than the last one. and the little SVR logo at the bottom is quite cute, not obtrusive at all.

The infotainment system, in car apps all work as they are supposed to and the internet connection and Wi Fi and Hot spotting all work fine.

All in all , I cannot say a bad thing from my point of view, but I will conform that once Dariusz has detailed it. It is going to him tomorrow for a little bit of pampering and mini protection until he can slot me in for the full works.

All in all I will give her 9 out of 10.

Once it has been pampered, I shall post more photos.

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather and hope you have a lovely day tomorrow...

Cheers to one and all

Kindest regards

Is that Darius at DSR Perfection in slough? If so be prepared to dig deeper as he’ll find a lot once he starts detailing and charge at least £250/300 more! I used to use him a lot and had a lot of friends go there too but greed got the better of him unfortunately!

Nige,

That is good to hear and agree with all of your comments. Only 3 things I think were better on the previous MY SVRs are the wheels (I like the 22inch wheels on mine but having parked next to a MY16 SVR the old ones look better IMO), exhaust tailpipes (I just prefer the 4 cannons rather the the AMG copycat tailpipes) and the sound. Yes the engine pops etc but I just preferred the crackle and sound of the previous MY SVRs.

Cheers

How much does a detail (full works) cost if you don't mind me asking? I hear many people talking about it… its a worthy investment then? MY18 Range Rover Sport SVR (18' - current)

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Had mine done with GTechniq Crystal Serum last October - with some paint corrections it took 3 days and cost me £600, well worth it as at 2.5years old the dealership applied Autoglym Lifeshine wasn’t looking good, even with the car having sat outside all winter covered with snow and frozen snow the rain water is still beading and running off. i’ve Already booked my new car in to have the same GTechniq treatment rather than the dealership’s in house preparation applied for not much less, it also helps that the detailer is 5 minutes walk away from the dealer so the detailer will collect it from the dealer on the day it is delivered and prep it straight off the transporter. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks for the heads up RRSman. So far I have had 3 done and had no problems. The costs have been fairly acceptable to date.

Who do you use now ? I once used a guy over in Maidenhead and he charged me an absolute fortune. RRS SVR 2018
