Lumpy Steering

My RRS recently went into the local garage for replacement of the offside front lower wishbone (near one was done about 6 months ago). Of course part of the process meant full 4 wheel alignment which has been done.

Upon picking it up I notice that I now have a very lumpy feel to the steering. As you turn the wheel you feel a bit of resistance at certain points as if its resisting the turn. It feels the same whether you are turning left or right. Rather than a smooth movement as you increase the turn of the wheel, you get this lumpy feel where there is more resistance - then it s easy, then as you continue to turn the wheel, you feel another "lump". It occurs after about 15 degrees of turn, and again after a further 10 degrees or so, so that in turning the wheel through 90 degrees, you will get about 3 "lumps" where there is greater resistance to the turn. Worse still, when returning the wheel to the straight ahead position, it appears to get stuck at the lumps and rather than it spinning freely back to straight ahead, I have to force it back because of the resistance. If I don't the car would continue to turn in a circle.

I took it back in to the garage for the alignment to be checked again, and they say its fine but that I have a seized suspension bush or something???? Sorry, didn't get which one. So its going back in on Monday for further investigation

My question is, has anyone else experienced anything similar of has any ideas what it might be? Robin
