Recall P017 symptoms on an 07 RRS supposedly 'not effected'

Hi folks, just looking for a few opinions that's all. I have an 07 TDV6 and have recently experienced a "boiling water" noise from the front of the car, with a loss of braking assist and hard brake pedal. A little research points to oil getting into the brake servo unit. I believe there was a recall on 05-07 models (P017) for certain vin numbers. I've called LR customer services and they have advised it didn't effect my vehicle. However, if it turns out this is what is happening with mine, surely it comes back to this recall? I have it booked in next week for an inspection at a local independent specialist.

Would be interested to hear your views.

Thanks,
Nick

I wouldn't know what the servo looked like, I'm not automotively technically minded, I just do a fair bit of research when I get an issue!!

I can but it'll be next week now as I work away and it's the missus car.

I'll see if she can take a photo for me.

I will do so however.

What am I looking for? And why does it make a difference?

Thanks
Nick

Yes it would affect your vehicle (if your profile is correct).
Discuss with them about getting a vosa inspection as you believe it to be the same failure (and it will definitely be oil in the brake servo).

As it's gone so bad, you'll need
Servo, clean out of pipe work, possibly master cylinder, possibly the vacuum pump in the engine itself as that's where the source of the issue is. Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks bodsy. LR customer services said my car wasn't effected! I've got it booked in at a local independent LR specialist as I need a new intercooler hose, I've also described this problem to them and asked them to have a look. They changed my rear brake pipes for MOT in May, and it's only started doing it since then, co-incidence or not. How would I go about getting a VOSA inspection?

Thanks
Nick

Done the vosa check on line. Ours starts with:

SALLSAA137

See below attached photo of the effected VINs according the VOSA.

Can't work out if mine is or not?
