EGR pipe bolts

I can't find anyone else thats mentioned this (apart from it being tricky) but how the hell do you get the 8mm bolts off of the egr pipes to put blanking plates in them?!

Got an EGR blanking kit today. managed to take off all the upper stuff, but no way could I get the angle or space to remove the two 8mm bolts at the lower end of each pipe.

There must be a simple to trick to this as so many people have done it. Please share!

Socket on wobble bars? May need varying lengths to get the angles.
I must add the disclaimer that I've not done this myself, but I'm sure I have seen it somewhere, try a search on Disco3 forum.
Good luck.

This video may help you. I know it shows full replacement but the access may help.

When I did it, I used a socket on a long extension for the accessible bolt and a ratchet spanner on the other one to get it started. Plenty of penetrating fluid helps too.

Thanks all! Managed to buy a few other 1/4" extensions and universal joints to get in there. Very tight. Luckily the bolts were in good condition and came out no problem Thumbs Up
