Didn't think they had HT leads? Coils straight onto plugs.

jag engines are quite fussy, so probably need to stick to NGK.

See ebay, and you should get some change out of £100 Big Cry

Could be a faulty coil. Any fault codes reported for misfire on Bank x ?

90% certain the slight miss fire (more of an engine stumble, can't be heard but you feel the shudder through the steering wheel etc?) will be the injectors need cleaning.

Next job on my list. Thumbs Up

EDIT; Oh you need the Iridium plugs (they're good for 100k miles before they need changing.. usually!)

I to have this stumble is a tin of injector cleaner enough or does it take more as it's only on tick over everything else is ok Thumbs Up

It's worth trying a can or two of BG44 to see if that helps, getting the injectors out is quite a big job.

I've been told to increase the plug gap on my Jag from 1.0 to 1.3mm (probably go for somewhere in between) to make it idle better.

Have you changed the plug gaps on your Jag ?

I'm guessing this will be a cheaper and quicker fix than cleaning the injectors. That being said doing both can only be a good thing.

I'll dig out the feeler gauges this weekend and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip Very Happy

Not yet. Hopefully I'm gonna try and measure the gap at the weekend, but won't drive for a while

From what I can make out, this only applies to very early jags, (long before the RRS)
and Iridium plugs seam to get set to 1.0mm

I had a look after you mentioned it and as you say the default plug gap on the 4.2SC is between 0.9 and 1.0 mm.

I've not had chance yet but I was going to set mine to 1.2, but as I said, I think this is a temporary fix rather than cleaning the injectors.
