Changing the gear selector surround

Hi,

I have found a new gear selector surround for a few quid and am looking to replace this as the existing one is worn.

But, before I start messing about, is it a case of a click out click in? Or is this actually quite a technical job to do?

Any advice gratefully received.

You have to remove to remove the complete console section as the surround it is held in with several clips and two screws, the screws are only reachable from underneath, if it wasn't for those it would just clip out separately. You can see at the front of the surround where the screws locate in your top picture.

OK cheers for that, far too technical for me, I will most likely be unable to get it all back together again lol.

Will find someone local to do it for me.

Cheers,

Mark.

It really isn't that difficult, flip out small DVD front panel, remove two Phillip's screws located under it, carefully release the panel where the ignition, clock and audio controls are you will need to pull it quite firmly to release the clips but don't yank on it to hard as there are electrical connectors behind it with not a lot of slack wire. Then to release the console start at cubby box end and gradually pull it up, it will take a bit off pulling and you will think it is going to break, once it is loose it will lift high enough to release electrical multi-plugs and just lift it out.

Cheers
