90% certain the slight miss fire (more of an engine stumble, can't be heard but you feel the shudder through the steering wheel etc?) will be the injectors need cleaning.

I to have this stumble is a tin of injector cleaner enough or does it take more as it's only on tick over everything else is ok |

It's worth trying a can or two of BG44 to see if that helps, getting the injectors out is quite a big job. |

I've been told to increase the plug gap on my Jag from 1.0 to 1.3mm (probably go for somewhere in between) to make it idle better. |

Not yet. Hopefully I'm gonna try and measure the gap at the weekend, but won't drive for a while |

From what I can make out, this only applies to very early jags, (long before the RRS) and Iridium plugs seam to get set to 1.0mm |

I had a look after you mentioned it and as you say the default plug gap on the 4.2SC is between 0.9 and 1.0 mm.

my jag Iridium's were at 0.9mm so moved them to 1.1mm |
