SYSTEM SCANNER / REMAP QUESTION.

Hi.

I'm in the process of buying a multi system scanner having just got my 2005 RRS. Having seen a lot of comments as to how useful these code scanners can be I think it's a useful investment. My question is: the car has been remapped by a pro' garage and I was wondering if it possible to inadvertently 'undo' the remap via the scanner should I do/press something in error? For info, the scanner is a Foxwell NT510 Pro for LR & Jaguar.

Thanks.

If it's been remapped, the only way you'll overwrite it is if your tool is able to do a software update on the PCM (engine ecu). Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bodsy. Now I have the device I think it is capable of changing the settings however it seems to involve entering data - which I don't intend doing! As I've said to a couple of people in pm's, I probably won't use half of the device's capabilities but it'll be useful for code reading and some resets. Thanks again.
