Thanks for the reply Andy. It's plus zero temps across the pond for a few days but the eddy effect these things produce at high speeds REALLY gum up the rear hatch and lift gate button so I'm hoping it's just a clogged jet. I'll give it a good wash today and see what I find. Thanks.

How does it work with one pump? according to the manual it is meant to wash the front windscreen when you press the end of the stalk, and wash the rear screen when you pull the stalk towards you. Is there some kind of selector valve? |

Thanks. Mine has the operations switched (which is super annoying), I assume the pipes are on the wrong outlets? |

my hoses were on the wrong way round, when I pulled the stick the rear washer would work and the front wipers, easy fix though swapping the hoses. |

Not that it matters, but......Mine appears to have two pumps plus I thought another one for the Headlight Washers does anyone know? I seem to be able to have front and rear washing together, which shouldn't be possible if motor needs to be reversed? I often click on rears & press button and pull up the stalk to clean the screens before moving off. (To remove sea salt) or do I have a fault?

If you also have headlight washers, then there will be 2 separate pumps like this..

Yes they have 2 pumps. A high pressure/volume one for the headlights (seen on the left). And a smaller one for the windows on the right. I think in ~1989 manufactures released that they did not need the cost of 2 motors (1 for front and 1 for rear) by doing some cleaver stuff in the motor (a direction flap?) it could all be in one unit with a modification to the electrics too. This had advantages such as 1) Cheaper 2) Less weight 3) less holes in the bottle and less likely to leak. 4) Improved assembly time Those are big bottles above. Maybe not the biggest I have seen, but they aren't small. If you have water coming out the front and rear at exactly the same time, and when you don't want it, maybe you do have a fault. |
