Warranty Question

Hi,

I have a warranty question I hope the forum can help with I have just had my MY10 serviced at an independent today and they service was good but the report say that the front wishbones have play and will need to be replaced and also the front arc bar is leaking are these items covered by my approved used warranty which runs out on the 04/04/17?

I have read the warranty and i am not sure if these items are covered?

All advice welcome

If it is the LR extended warranty I don't think suspension components are covered as it's seen as a 'wear and tear' item. The ARC bar may be covered but you'd have to consult with the warranty administrators or ask your independent garage to do so on your behalf.

Your independent should be able to do the work if it is covered so long as they use genuine LR parts and seek approval from the warranty people first. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

These would not be covered by the warranty.

However, if it fails its MOT because of the failure of these components, it would be covered under the MOT Insurance section. So, was it in for a service and MOT and failed its MOT?

Russben/crocs,

Thanks for your response. It was in for just a service which apart from these two items was fine. MOT is not due until the first week of next month. I don't think it's covered by warennty they did not tell me about the usurps until I picked her up. I emailed them for more info and asked them for a quote to carry out the work if not covered by warranty. They came back with what to say to the dealer about the issues but did not provide the requested quote. I had a colleague who also has a spot drive it and I drove his neither or us could replacate the noise the garge was was referring too. My colleague thought it drove fines and after driving his I have no issues with the way mine drives.
I am going to get another opinion before trying the warrenty route.

I'd get it MOT'd by as strict an Examiner as I could find before the Warranty runs out. Whistle
