Karcher SnowFoam

Hi.

I'm looking to purchase a Karcher snowfoamer to fit to my K4.

2 types seam to be available.

One with a knob on the side and one with a knob on the top.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/K%C3%A4rcher-Foam...+snow+foam

What's the difference?

I went for one like this - holds more foam for the bigger car Thumbs Up

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/28231718120...6158627453

I found it better to dilute the foam before attaching to the hose - the better snow foam is like syrup - still only a gimmick IMO Big Cry 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

About 90 degrees (Ha ha, sorry, couldn't resist)

I have the one with the knob on the top, it works very well, however, the Karcher snow foam fluid is not all that good so if you buy one and it comes with the bluish liquid, it is best to throw it away and fill the reservoir with something like ProKleen or Ultimate

God I'm never gonna buy one at this rate. Laughing

I was told the blue stuff was ok.

I see on youtube someone have a moan at (for example red) foam that is available. Once rinced off it can stain your beige leather seats and brightwork.

That ebay link is non genuine ? and not cheap either.

I'm only gonna use it a about twice per year, per car.

The Ebay dispenser is made up as required for different pressure washers & capacity requirements. I've had one for three years with no issues. I've always used the low Ph - high priced snow foam - I can see why you would want to keep the cost down if your only going to use it 4 times a year but the dispenser can be used for shampoo as well Thumbs Up
If your Sport has swirls & contaminated paintwork - I would suggest paint correction & detailing before investing in high end - quality - expensive cleaning products. 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

The car has been clayed and waxed.

No swirl remover required.

I just wanted something to get rid of most of the winter road dirt.

I'm quite happy to pay £23 for genuine K and snow foam.

Don't really want to purchase a 5 litre bottle of the stuff just yet until I tried it out.
Might not be able to resist though Laughing

IMO snow foam is overrated unless used with industrial high powered hot pressure washers - it may take some residue of dirt off but doesn't create a fresh clean look Embarassed unless of course I've been using it wrong for the last 4 years Embarassed 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Ive got one of those ebay guns, works really well. It seems to be a copy of a much more expensive branded one (chemical guys or meguiars or something) and was the recommended gun on detailing world. I use it with some 'autobrite magifoam' which seems to work pretty well, I leave it to dwell for about 10 minutes then blast it off and it makes a difference.

Be careful choosing a detergent, you want one that is PH neutral so it doesnt strip the wax/sealent off your car.

You will still need to wash the car with a wash mit after snowfoaming, but it is much more effective because youve got rid of a lot of the muck already, and it minimises the microscratches that you will put into the paint by washing it.

Ive got a broken arm atm so I cant use the pressure washer, so I washed the sport the old fashioned way last week, it amazed me how dirty the water got and how much more muck there was on the wash mit, compared to when Ive used the pressure washer and snow foam.

Ok I will look at the ebay one more seriously.

Yeah I just want something to use to get rid of most of the winter dirt.

And then it can have a proper/normal wash after that.

I got the one with the knob on top and works well, got it from Halfords for around £12, I am using Gtechniq W4, removes most of the dirt so very little dirt ends up on the mitt.

Ive got one similar to peachy's & had it about 7 years,,the snow foam I use is valet pro PH neutral as it doesn't strip the polish or wax off the car..in fact Ive just done my truck about a hour ago.

Neither of them, you will just get white water, they are only good for things like patio cleaners, but as for producing foam, no chance.
Get one of these, http://www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/was...tings.html
And just ask the guy to Ptfe the fitting for you.

Ps snow foam is meant as a prewash, something you do before every wash, to help remove any crap before you actually stick sponge/mitt to paint work.

Plus 1 for valet pro ph neutral snow foam, also bilt hammer auto foam comes highly recommended

Wearing VAlet Pro ph neutral snow foam.

The genuine karcher one is useless. Get a variable snow foam bottle as the boys say. Been using them for years. Just order a spare filter gauze.
