Parking Sensors

Hi
Just got my 2017 RRS
On my 2015 car l could set the front sensors to stay on permanately by depressing the sensor dash button for 5 seconds or more they would always then be on
Does not seem to work in the 2017 model l have to press the button to set them every time really frustrating
Is there a way to prmanly activate them does anyone know please
Thanks

There is a software update to enable that, should be a relatively recent thread here somewhere with the details. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Most I thought of new models now had system that alerts you when yo close etc?
On my model by leaving sensors on, you loose the display for Maps,DVD, AV etc and personally I cannot see the need for it, as it would be chirping away all the time at traffic lights, tailbacks etc. I have switched on the rear camera at times to check up on things. Whistle John

I activated what I think you're talking about in the driver menu's, something like auto sensing, can check tomorrow if need be... If not, when I pull in to my garage and/or any obstacle in front when I'm parking I had to physically switch the fronts on which is a pain in the ****

Well my Touareg had them on all the time, My SQ5 does and most other cars I've owned work this way. It seems Landrover cannot handle technology very well. The way the system should work is they only come on if you are close to an object. It should not require the screen to change or anything else. I was in a tight car park yesterday , instrument lights dimmed and I could not find the button to activate the fronts . This really is a very poor situation that Land Rover should sort. If you can't handle the little things then most likely you have Trucked up the big things! M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

LOL - the button is a girt big thing next to the LHS of the screen!

Maybe a little RTFM is needed? Laughing MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

The manual says you can turn on the front sensors to act automatically but I found the system would revert to manual after turning off the engine.

There is a software fix for this issue - see previous threads.

The software fix allows the front sensors to act automatically but they only operate at low speed......i.e. when parking etc. 2016 Range Rover Sport SDV8 HSE Dynamic (Indus Silver/Santorini Black Pano Roof, Ebony/Cirrus leather, custom grey Style 508 alloys)

Can I put it to you that when you drive from sunlight to a parking garage that the lights go on and the instrument lights dim and your eyes can't adjust to see the parking tab on the side of the screen. Point is this should work automatically and doesn't so is a fault which seems Landrover can't fix or advise the dealers how to fix. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

Case well made!

The fix (and there apparently is one) eludes the antipodean dealers it seems. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Looks Like I'll have to take to Face Book and Twitter to get Landrover action. World wide bad press seems to get action you know, might stop a couple of people buying the vehicle?? M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.
