4 Wheel Alignment after rear A.R.B being changed?

Hi all,

Having owned my RRS HSE for 5 weeks now it has just had the parking module changed, new rear Pads and Disks (which were cracked due to the handbrake sticking and associated heat generation).

The car is back in garage today having the rear anti roll bar bushes changed.

Is it worth spending some money to get a 4 wheel alignment done after all this work being undertaken?

Any guidance greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Andi

My indy, LRR in Charlton, didn't get my car aligned when they changed the rear ARB (ACE) last month. I asked when I collected as I had inside wear N/S/F tyre when I changed tyres last month. They said that it wasn't necessary. However, when they did the front ARB(ACE) they did do so and something else on the front they worked on, without asking.

For the cost of having it properly done, and the money you'd save on tyres, I'd say go ahead and have it 4 wheel aligned after the work. Make sure you have it done somewhere that has the proper Hunter (or equivalent) equipment. Dealer is best but they do tend to charge more. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Hi Russben. Thats kind of what i was thinking too. Local garage charges £50 for 4 wheel align using Hunter equipment. Im going get it booked in.

Thanks for the response!

My local tyre fitting garage couldn't seem to get mine set right for some reason, as a consequence it wore out tyres rather quickly.

When I pointed out to the mechanic that the printout supplied said the settings were for a 2.7 TDV6 they did try telling me that mine was a 2.7 TDV6 (it's a 3.0 TDV6). The settings are slightly different apparently.

I eventually took mine back to my dealer for them to sort out & it's been perfect since.

Make sure they don't put the car in access (lowered) mode before setting it as that will completely scr*w the ride, handling and tyre wear. It has happened at a Kw*k-F*t depot. They thought access mode was the 'service' mode. The car should ideally be locked into 'service' mode so the car doesn't adjust its ride height on the ramps, but you need a plug-in diagnostic tool to lock it. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.
