Possibly riverblanche but not for a little while yet as I'm still on the look out for alot of other parts!

Need to find a Genuine Warn Winch Tray and a few other bits and pieces. I don't want to hack my front bumper up either so I will source a good genuine one to carve up Whistle That will no doubt need painting as the chances of finding a good one in the right colour is probably slim too Rolling Eyes

I could just buy the complete winch kit but that would be far to easy!! Rolling with laughter 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Laughing thanks Wayne Thumbs Up

Was trying to find just the Warn winch tray on its own, but after a ton of research and a few calls you cannot buy them separately Rolling Eyes Pain in the Censored really as I had my eye on a Warn 9.5 XPS at a bargain price! That's the slightly newer winch to the G4 one, same looks but with a synthetic rope 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Much much safer and next to no maintenance unlike a wire, also while they do snapback when they part it is way less dramatic and dangerous than a wire breaking. Do be careful to wash out any sand / grit that might get into the heart of a synthetic rope as it can cause the strands to get frayed, also good practice to keep it covered when you are in strong sunlight as UV can degrade them which weakens them. I have had two 30mx 9mm in 8 years - first one was parted when recovering a careless Def90 from mud up to the waistline and the winch rope was only a year old ........... I replaced it with an Orange G4 rope from the local supplier who imported them for LR's Challenge cars and that is 11mm and is now 7 years old and has never been covered up on sunny days but I do run it off the barrel once a year in the winter and soak it to remove all the mud and sand deposits. I have a Milemarker Hydraulic winch - pulls and pulls, needs no special batteries or split charge system and doesn't disolve into a heap of steam and smoke when you most want it BUT it is very very slow although it has never given up on a recovery except when the rope parted! One thing you need to be careful with if replacing a wire with a Dyneema synthetic rope is that you replace the fair lead if it has been used for wire previously - wires can grind into the fair lead and if you then put a dyneema through it it will just chew it up, shortening it's life. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
