Dreaded red low Battery Warning Message on main screen.

The last couple of days I have had some sort of "Warning" flash up on screen in Red that fills TV/Map etc screen, but it doesn't stay on long enough to grab more than a couple of words (batteries possibly) before standard screen hides it and it disappears.
Cannot make it come on if I restart, main battery OK on AA Testing, no problem starting in -5c temperatures last few mornings.
Any ideas what it could be, nothing in handbook.
Thanks.

Extra.
Since had a flat battery. Evidently have a permanent drain on battery of 1.8 amps to 2.8 amps with everything off.

John,

I had the dreaded red screen recently, see link to post http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic46157.html

I am not saying that this is the same problem at all, but there is a new software fix for Battery/Power management. Check Topix to see if your vehicle is eligible for it and have it updated if it is. (Code Q634)

All the best,

I believe Q634 is only applicable to L494 RRS's not L320's. John do you have a fault code reader as that might reveal what the warning is. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks guys, yes Tim I have the IID BT tool so will get it plugged in over weekend.
This morning had to call on Land Rover Rescue (or whatever the name), they sent out the AA.
My car was so flat I couldn't even get into car, had to use the emergency key.
The Battery was flat as expected with just 6 volts, with the AA boost it started first time, then several checks were carried out, the battery was now charging at around 16volts, but on testing current drain with everything off, it was still loosing 1.8 amps continuous. Battery read Good, needs recharge, being done overnight, and now booked in to find out what's causing the drain, which overnight or two is enough to flatten battery again. Checked everything we can, so leaving it on charge as my JLR dealer has no space until mid Jan 2017, and local agent is just the same, so each night till then will leave on trickle charge.
Any ideas? Anyone had similar? Battery not covered by LR Warranty either. Censored John

I'm surprised this isn't covered under JLR warranty Johnski, when this happened to me last winter they replaced the battery with a new AGM and said that they did a software upgrade to the Battery Monitoring System, although I suspect that they just reset the BMS and the battery was just dead.

I think most of the problem is the amount of electrical stuff that's on in the cold winter months, heated seats, lights, front and rear screens, music all take their toll on the battery. And using the FBH before starting the car that sometimes it just can't keep up if short journeys are undertaken.

Maybe once a week now I just hook mine up on the Ctek to give it a full charge if not using it just to make up the shortfall of no long journeys.

Good luck and hopefully you get it sorted Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black
