Heated seat issue

Hi all,

Tried my heated seats for the first time and they don't work! Seems to be both front that don't work, haven't tried the rear seat yet so unsure if that works.

The 2 lights illuminate and then go to one light so they seem to be working.

Could this be a fuse, if so does anyone know it's location?

Thanks Daryl

There is a white 25a fuse under the bonnet for them.

Thanks Andy k,

Checked it and all is fine with the fuse, tried the rear heated seats and they are working fine!

Decided to look under the front seats and there is a plug loose on both of them a black 4 pin plug with some red inside.

Couldn't see any location for it to plug into, but there is enough wiring under the seats to stretch to the moon! Does anyone know the rough location of the plug that comes from the car? (The but I can see on both seats goes into the seat base and back)

Thanks again

Found the plug to connect them to, it's a box with aford logo on it.

Plugged them in on both front seats, passenger heats up well, nothing from driver side though.

So...... what could be causing the driver side heater to not work!

Not sure if they work unless seat belts are fastened, but I may be way off with that. Could just be coincidence that I don't feel them warming up until I've buckled up. Confused I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Mine work without seatbelt did have to replace drivers side base element, put a new foam in at same time, which made the seat much more comfy. Element and foam were £95 for both took about an hour to fit . Nanocom Evo

Probably just me then. To be fair I only switch mine on once I've put my belt on. I have tried to switch the passenger seat on for my wife before she gets in (who says chivalry is dead?) but it doesn't warm up quick enough for me to check.
Might have to try it now just for personal inquisitiveness. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

If no one is sitting in my front passenger seat, normally wife, the seat will not heat till she is in and buckles up.
Not sure if it's seat belt, seat weight both that it senses, but worked fine on all settings when occupied but doesn't if not in use. I thought it was normal featurel, but now thinking possibly not. Question MY2012 SDV6 HSE Lux. John

I tried it and the passenger seat does heat up without the seatbelt being fastened. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

Hi Jaggs, looks like I am going to have to do this also. Do you have any tips or things to watch out for when doing this? Did you do it with the seat still fixed in the car?
Thanks
Ian
