Help, water in driver's footwell without a sunroof !

Morning all

I have just noticed that my driver's footwell is more like a water well! I know you can get this kind of problem with a RRS fitted with a sunroof but mine doesn't have one. Any help appreciated Rolling Eyes

I had the same in one of my previous cars.

Can be that the plastic collector reservoir is clogged, which causes the water to overflow in to the cabin ventilation system.
It collects the water comming from the windshield, preventing it to go down the engine bay.

This gets clogged after years and the reservoir needs to be cleaned of leaves from the trees and other stuff.
The drain holes of the reseroir, releasing the water down on the road, are most of the time also clogged.

Easy job, bring a thin stick.

Good luck! Thumbs Up SW

Thanks for your suggestions, but I'm still stuggling to find the source of the water coming into the footwell. Any more ideas would be greatly appreciated Thumbs Up

Hi. Did you ever fix this? I have the same problem which I think is causing the wiring loom to fail on the driver's side as the loom is underwater....... MY2010 RRS 5.0 S/C Santorini Black, 5 Spoke Diamond Turned Alloys, Privacy, Logic7, iPod, Cameras

Re: Help, water in driver's footwell without a sunroof !

Hi, just to start in the right direction , had it been raining or hose pipe on the roof after washing ?? if it had then it will almost be certain that it is the slots behind the A pillar cover. I had this on mine and i believe it is a very common problem, but an easy fix if it is. Thumbs Up

As suggested - quite likely the 'A' Pillar leak issue. If you follow this link it is to a document (pdf) with all the information you need.

What ever you do I suggest you fix it quick as water and wiring don't mix. Recent CAR SOS programme showed what happened to a Porsche when its seat electrics got wet. Not a pretty site inside. Robin

Thanks all for the info and link. Actually my seat has decided to stop working which led me to lift the trim under the door kick panel which led me to discover the water. Dried it out completely Friday and with rain on Saturday it was full of water again today so will get a kit and see if that fixes it. Then only the seat electrics to try and fix........ MY2010 RRS 5.0 S/C Santorini Black, 5 Spoke Diamond Turned Alloys, Privacy, Logic7, iPod, Cameras
