Hi All

I am thinking of buying one of these Land Rover Range Rover Sport 4.2 V8 Supercharged HSE, it is 2005 with 128000 on the clock.

Am I mad, what should I look out for and do they give bother in general?

I am not bothered about the fuel

The mileage alone wouldn't be a concern as long as it has been maintained. The petrol engine is far less complicated than the oil burners, it is also a lot less stressed under normal driving.
The gearbox is a common issue as it works hard, wheel bearings, suspension bushes and brake pipes are all common problems as are air suspension compressors.
The best thing about a Supercharged is that every time you drive it you will have a smile on your face, I love mine and would never change it for a Diesel. Life's too short to drive boring cars !

As a 2005 car the air compressor should have been replaced, if it hasn't factor in the cost of a new one. Check to see if it's had new discs, as it's there or there abouts at that mileage for another set. check all the electrical gadgets work, try all the switches. Go and look at a few cars if you can, so you can judge a good example. A RAC or AA report at about £350 could be a good investment as they will tell you exactly what needs doing.
