When I was looking I decided 85k was top whack for me, I personally would never by a car that's done over 100k

Sounds a good buy on the face of it, looks tidy in the pictures , it's all about the history rather than the mileage. Nanocom Evo |

106k miles isn't too bad of it's been looked after. At that mileage the gearbox needs flushing if not already done. Check the transfer box engages low range and back to high range. Put it in rock crawl and check the centre diff locks too. You might never go off road but even in snow mode the diff lock will be active to a degree. Nice to make sure it's healthy. Diff lock and low range activation use the same motor/solenoid so you want it to be healthy.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the mileage of this car, there are plenty around that have covered far higher mileages than that. I have just bought a 2005 TDV6 with 108k miles and it drives like a new car. Like you I will use it mostly at weekends and do 4-5k miles each year.

Disco Mikey is the "in house" Scottish based D3/RRS fixer - he's based in the Dundee area so not really that close to you. There are other Land Rover specialists in Scotland but I doubt any has the knowledge of D3/D4 and RRS1 as Mikey. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
