Subwoofer after head unit change

Looking to change head unit to the Pioneer 5800 DAB that others have fitted and interested in how you have found lack of subwoofer or loss of tweeters as the conversion lead from incartec INSTRUCTIONS HERE suggest I will loose both.

Anyone done anything to re instate?

I mentioned this to an installer and he suggested getting a small JBL amp, which could be placed under the driver's seat, as the S/W feed from the Incartec kit ends there, there is power as well as the original tweeter/sub leads. Never got to do it yet as he seems to have stopped trading...

I have an Alpine ILX-700 and to be honest, the sound has been a lot better than the OE kit (thankfully!) and it is a lot more tweakable. Not missing/noticing lack of tweeters. Bass on the other hand, I could do with some more but worried about freaking the dog out when its in the boot! Personal preference to add the amp for the sub but as the overall quality exceeds the original, I've been happy & the majority of the time don't notice (lack of bass) at the volumes I'm inclined to listen at.

Perfect thanks so much. Good to know about tweeters, i could always splice them into front speaker loom with a suitable high pass filter if I really wanted to

Not done the swap yet but planning the shopping list so will have a look for suitable amp.

Not sure what wattage the LR one gives out?

One further question as you say power is available by the amp. Does the original amp still have the power supply connected or can I simply use that power supply?

Thanks again
