Satnav Problem

Advise please. My kids dropped a full bottle of coke on the floor of my 2007 Sport. It burst open and went all over the satnav box rendering it useless. I have the option of a reasonably priced second hand unit which I am told was from a Defender. The seller also told me that the part number is the same. Does this sound too good to be true. I would appreciate any help.

Defender - never been even offered with satnav.. Regards etc.,
