how easy is it to change the handbrake module

hi, my handbrake just makes a loud noise and i end up with a flashing light on the dash, have read up on this and it seems its probaly the module thats seized, the previous owner did say that he never used it (just put it in park each time). trouble is the mot is due in a couple of weeks and im guessing that will be a fail, is changing the module an easy job to do, im not a mechanic but are handy with tools.
thanks

its 2005 4.2 sc model if that makes any difference

Steve

Entirely likely that it's the actual kit in the rear wheels that's causing the problem. Get hold of Bodsy's brake bible and have a read up on adjusting/cleaning the EPB shoes.

The module itself would, I imagine, be a pig to do on a driveway and isn't cheap - about £500 I think.

2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

As said, start with a clean and adjust of the handbrake shoes.... Visitor from fullfatrr.com
