2.7TDV6

Hi, this is a long shot but dose anyone on here know of someone who has put a R/R Sport 2.7TDV6 engine into a Classic Range Rover?

With enough time and effort, anything is possible. There was recently an Aston Martin V12 engined RR Classic in one of the LR mags Thumbs Up

Extensive use of a Mexican hacksaw required.

I know bell autos who are Spencer's on here put one into a defender and I'm not sure if nene over lander didn't do the same thing so don't see why you couldn't put one in a classic.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
2009 TDCi 90 current
2018 Discovery 5 HSE lux current
1994 Dakar current

Presumably you'd need a custom ECU as the engine talks to the transmission and various other systems on the CANBUS. If the ECU just heard silence it's likely to just sit there and refuse to play ball.

Would seem more "sensible" to put a big old fashioned engine in the Classic. Much less effort to get it working, I'm sure.

If you insist on a "modern" diesel, surely the 3.0TDV6 or SDV6 would make more sense. The 2.7 is hardly top drawer when it comes to go. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I guess the TDV6 is available and value for money.

Just how much would a SDV6 with all the electrics to make it work cost ? Rolling Eyes
