With enough time and effort, anything is possible. There was recently an Aston Martin V12 engined RR Classic in one of the LR mags |

I know bell autos who are Spencer's on here put one into a defender and I'm not sure if nene over lander didn't do the same thing so don't see why you couldn't put one in a classic.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Presumably you'd need a custom ECU as the engine talks to the transmission and various other systems on the CANBUS. If the ECU just heard silence it's likely to just sit there and refuse to play ball.
