Rear Tailgate Number Plate Light Camera Extension Cable

Recently purchased one of these Reversing Cameras from InCarTec , along with the stereo replacement kit. When I opened up the camera box, I saw that the wire at the camera end was only 20cm or so long, ending in a small thin connector. This connects into a bigger receptor, which has the video cable + a red/black dual wire combo intended for earth and reversing light switching.

If I followed the logical conclusion, I would have to feed both wires around the tailgate and the length of the red/black would only get to just inside the car, so would require an extension to the rear light area. In addition, I would either have a small hole to the number plate light, with the bigger female outside or a big hole with the female connector inside. Not ideal but not something our Disco brethren have to worry about.

Therefore I requested and have had made up by InCarTec, a 2m extension cable that will run between the two original connectors of the camera kit. By feeding the wire backwards from the car to the numberplate-light, then the drilling of big holes is negated and the need to run a power extension to the rear lights is also not necessary, as the supplied wiring can be used.

Not the cheapest cable I've ever bought as it was a one-off but as its useful for this kit, then I'm sure the price will come down with demand. Definitely going to make for a tidier and easier install.

Hopefully useful for anyone on here contemplating the same install
