Early 00's Nokia phone cradle

Hi all, first post here.

Picked up my 2007 RRS HSE, noticed there is a phone cradle above the cool box.

What is the best way of getting rid of this and replacing for something a bit modern, maybe just a USB input? Is this even possible?

Just seems like such a waste of space!

I must admit that I just cut the cable and removed the cradle. It does free up a lot of room. I really ought to take the console apart and surgically remove the cable. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes I have the bluetooth on the radio which is working for phone calls but thought there may of been a way of getting the phone hooked up for music other than the Aux lead.

I think I may just cut the cable, just a shame there isnt a way of stripping back the cable and adding a different connection on the end to utilise it

Thanks guys
