Hi- I've just joined the great unwashed and purchased a caravan. Do I have to have twin electric sockets on the car? I've got a boat trailer that I tow so have single point electrics- is that ok for a caravan or not?

Single 12N 7-pin or the 13-pin? Take a quick look here: http://www.towbarexpress.co.uk/socket-types You will have at least the minimum required, but depending on what you have you may need an adaptor.  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

if the caravan has twin 12s 12n electrics (new ones have 13pin) then you can obtain converters

Caravan has 13 pin too- driven it round on a private road and all the lights are working a treat. Time to brave the real road!
