id be interested on how much you are able to get it done for,

mines going in on the 11th

Ive been quoted just over 1k to have
the two belts done, all the gibbons which go with it.
water pump,
auxiliary belt,
oil pump/casing ?

i said oil casing, they said oil pump are these the same part or is the casing totally separate? ? as he said 200+ for the oil pump.

Have had a quote from independant landrover specialist for £870, he tells me the oil pump doesnt always need changing but would check it, he reckons the biggest reason oil pumps sometimes fail after belts have been changed is because it hasnt been torqued off properly when putting back together

The oil pump failure appears to be due to a change in design of the housing. The failing one is a weaker design and LR reverted to a stronger one as a result of the failures. Got to be worth having it done at the same time as the belts; they seem to fail soon after the belt change if they are going to fail. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Important to note, however, that it has also occured with the other pump types, so the recommendation to change it applies to all years. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

At least it's simple(ish) to do on the V6. The TDV8 oil pump is an engine out job I think. So that's body off too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
