Have had a quote from independant landrover specialist for £870, he tells me the oil pump doesnt always need changing but would check it, he reckons the biggest reason oil pumps sometimes fail after belts have been changed is because it hasnt been torqued off properly when putting back together |

The oil pump failure appears to be due to a change in design of the housing. The failing one is a weaker design and LR reverted to a stronger one as a result of the failures. Got to be worth having it done at the same time as the belts; they seem to fail soon after the belt change if they are going to fail. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

At least it's simple(ish) to do on the V6. The TDV8 oil pump is an engine out job I think. So that's body off too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
