A couple of years ago I replaced the front discs, got brembos from Rimmer, after 3k had brake judder, the discs where changed under warranty, problem was the new discs lasted about the same. Truth is couldn't be bothered to go through all the rigmarole of getting them changed again if in another 3k was going to have the same problem again.
So question is what else is out there ? Did think of going gen but I believe there L/R boxed brembos.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

I use grooved discs from a small company called Godspeed Brakes in Wales someplace. He does performance brakes for a all varieties of cars and when my discs were low bought some, along with suitable performance pads from him - £195 delivered. Together with my Brembos, can't fault them to be honest & looking at 20k+ miles currently including "spirited" driving and towing. Ask for Ian.

Oh & definitely an improvement over standard

You could try having them skimmed as brake pad transfer will cause judder also sticking Pistons in the calipers are sometimes overlooked and may be worth having them rebuilt.

Having been through various manufacturers, I only fit genuine front discs where SDB000624 is required. Anything else is a false economy

I had Mintex discs and non-Gen pads fitted all round a while back. Steering wheel judder when braking since fitting (from ~55mph upwards).
Have now bought Genuine front discs and pads off Dan@Duckworths (£280 delivered. Amazing price and speed of delivery!) and being fitted Friday. Garage couldn't get anywhere near that price for Genuine
Hopefully this will resolve the issue.....
Will leave Mintex ones on rear for time being....
Garage will refund cost of Mintex ones and fit new ones FOC as I got their mechanic to witness the judder on a test drive.....

Slotted and drilled discs from Ebay, under £100, Mintex pads, two years and 11,000 miles later, still perfect 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater )))

AFAIK Brembo only make their own discs and pads in their own packaging.

Pagid on the other hand own Textar and a variety of other firms, and all their grades of pads and discs are made on one production line. Subsequently you are never entirely sure of what you are buying, You can buy Textar but get Pagid in the box and vice versa.

I cannot imagine that a new rotor from any manufacturer will be worn sufficiently to cause vibration at 3k miles. Far more likely is uneven pad transfer - either through poor bedding in, or bad luck - which needs the discs to be skimmed; or uneven run off of the rotors caused by either poorly cleaned hub surface before putting on the disc, or the disc manufactured outside usual tolerance.

If it were me I'd have somewhere skim them and then re-bed the pads depending on the costs of replacing the discs vs skimming.

My rotors need changing and I'm looking at replacements. I won't be going premium brand because new rotors don't warp.
