If you are from anywhere around here, you will know about the 50 year campaign to get the Mottram Bypass started.

In 2014, the government approved two such schemes, and said they had the money. One was in George Osborne's constituency, and work started almost right away.

The Mottram, Longdendale, Tintwistle and Glossop spur however, has made zero progress. Local MP's cannot find out why either.

So there is now a petition on the Parliament website. If you ever have to sit in the soul destroying traffic that is from the M67 through to Glossop, you may wish to lend it your support: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/123674
