Well that's been an interesting few weeks...
I have replaced 2 compressors for the suspension the 1st one OE from Land Rover dealership was kindly fitted by one of the Disco 3 guys, thanks Kris, however it came back with a fault on the exhaust so he refitted the old one as I was heading off to France. Kris returned the new compressor as faulty and they sent a new replacement which I had fitted yesterday but didn't have the tool to do the update. So I took it to DSL in Worksworth Derbyshire and paid the princely sum of £54 for them to update the software and this has also come back with a fault on the exhaust.

Any ideas!!!

As far as I know your TDV8 would have left the factory with a Hitachi compressor. Presumably the replacement is the AMK which superseded the Hitachi. I had an AMK fitted to mine and although everything worked fine my IID tool consistently found an 'exhaust valve' fault. Luckily an update to the IID tool included the ability to identify the compressor software version and reflash it.

Lo! I discovered the software installed was the Hitachi version. Reflashing to the AMK version eliminated the 'exhaust valve' fault.

Just tried the install which was quick however the fault now showing up as

C1A36-01 (AF) Exhaust valve - General failure information - general electrical failure

If anyone has any ideas would appreciate feedback

That's disappointing then.

C1A3601 was the fault code I was getting. After the re-flash it hasn't reoccurred.

A perhaps daft question - but I'm assuming you cleared the fault and then re-scanned?

Are there any symptoms or are you just getting the fault code?

The workshop manual lists the following possible for this fault code

Exhaust valve, general
electrical failure:

Exhaust valve
disconnected

Exhaust valve harness
wiring short circuit to
ground or high resistance

Exhaust valve failure

Air suspension control
module failure 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Yes, re scanned and the fault is coming up as:-

C1A36-01 (AF) Exhaust valve - General failure information - general electrical failure

The suspension light is on, on the dash and can't use suspension control at-all (It's locked)
