United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Latest Battery Recommendations Please

Looking for a battery recommendation for my 2009 (2010MY) RRS 3.0 please.

I have seen the Exide Premium 900CCA 100Ah recommended in the past. Is this still one of the best?

Many thanks

Ok, so they do cost a bit more than a normal battery, but I always fit Duracell AGM Extreme batteries to my cars.

They are designed for newer cars that have stop/start tech, so they can cope with large numbers of start cycles without any problem. Most of my journeys are bad for the car (5 miles to/from the train station during the week), so fitting the gel mat style battery prolongs battery life no end.

The Exide is still a highly recommended battery, but for a later vehicle you want an AMG type as suggested above. The Battery Monitoring System should be reset with a diagnostic tool when the battery is changed. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Hi did you find any prices or best place to buy Question

I am in exactly the same position original battery just starting to die and think I will be upgrading it to a AGM as Minty says

as L for W says bms to be reset ideally at time of fitting

Robbie kindly tested mine today so just about to search for a new battery Rolling Eyes

Haven't bought mine yet. Charged existing battery and it seems to be holding up OK.

Ref. the resetting of BMS, is this just if you change to AGM or does it need resetting at any battery change?

After any battery change. Best to ensure the battery is fully charged when fitted too.

The CCF (on facelfit models) does have a setting for wet cell/AGM batteries because AGM batteries are less tolerant of higher voltages. I think you should already have an AGM fitted so no need to change.

On pre-facelfits, I wouldn't recommend a AGM battery because of the higher charging voltages. Wet cells often have better specifications and also hold their charge better if the car is not used so frequently so an AGM is not always to be considered an upgrade, though they are essential on stop-start vehicles.
