supercharger worry

His guys I had my 2010 supercharged range rover sport serviced for the first time by my mechanic today and he has noticed an intermittent slight rattle from the front of the engine. If the bonnets shut you can't hear it and it is only now and again,no warning lights and drives perfectly obviously I'm concerned it could be the start of problems with the supercharger anybody got any idea's. It has only done 40k with f.s.h
Thanks for any info supplied Thumbs Up

You could try removing the SC belt as a test.

If the noise stops its either the SC or the belt tensioner.

Hi Andy he has already removed the belts and spun the supercharger by hand which he said it made a small "donk" noise but admits to knowing nothing about superchargers,I have spoken to a company experienced with this sort of thing and apparently there is no rebuild it has to be a new unit from land rover

Hi it's the 5 litre v8 supercharged the same engine they use in the jag not the 4.2 that's why the company I spoke to said they can't rebuild it because there are no kits for it as of yet I'm going to try the company I bought it from as it is still in warranty but I'm not holding my breath
