Hi All. I have had eight wonderful years with my TDV8

The car has been absolutely brilliant and caused me little headache.

Lets hope it's as good.

I've only driven the L405 once, on the forum off road day at Luton t'other year. What impressed me most was the ride comfort. We drove along a partially-made track and, where all of the other models including the RRS and Disco were a bit bouncy on the rough surface, the FFRR just smoothed it out totally. It was on a different level of ride quality. The fact the interior is fabulous too just made it the stand out moment of the day for me. Thumbs Up

I've promised myself one at some point - once the work on the house is done I can think about saving towards one... Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Good choice. If they did a 7 seat option is have one on the drive. Lovely cars.
Had the pleasure of a fully loaded SDV8 loaned from Farnells a few months ago. Seriously smooth ride and more toys than you could shake a very big stick at Cool ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

How many toys do you need in a car? Decent seats with heating, a passable stereo, heated screen, decent headlights and the radar cruise control with queue assist would do for me. Shame you often have to go for a high spec version to get one or other of these. Seats are often fairly basic and lacking adjustment in lower specs, for example.

At least the FFRR gets decent seats in all specs. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Took a 2012 SDV6 out at the weekend - don't know if it's because I hadn't driven a RRS in a while but the whole ride experience was a ton smoother than I remember in my TDV6 - driven a FFRR on experience days and it does feel a bit more 'refined' - just can't believe how smooth I found the SDV6 though

I would more or less agree with you all I really require is a comfy seat, heated and adaptive cruise control, oh and I love a heated steering wheel ! Having one for half a day on Thursday !

I feel much the same. There was a time when I'd want most/all of the available options on a car - My D3 is exactly the spec I'd like had I ordered it from the factory - but now I look at the options lists of the new LRs and think "Um...no thanks Neutral ".

When I really put my head to it and think of what I really value, I'd say, a heated windscreen, a good sound system, leather seats (from a practical perspective), sunroof, adaptive xenon lights (really grown to like these). Out of those, the only one I would have to have, is the sound system, because I like my music. I don't really need PDC or CC (I might use CC if it were adaptive though); I don't have to have rear HVAC, I can manage without auto lights and wipers.

Seats are an interesting one actually; in winter, I'm glad of the heated seats, but could manage without them, but come summer, I do tend to really wish I had cooled ones.

I would, frankly, rather be without an electric tailgate, electric seats, electric steering column...or, god forbid, an electric arse-wiper... Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
