Will blanking the EGR valve change any values in emissions test? Just thinking about stringent MOT. |

At present, blanking EGR valves will only improve MOT readings (smoke test) because they increase particulate matter. It is possible that diagnostic testing could be introduced in the future, but methods are ready to tackle that if the need arises (emulators). Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Can this be done on a supercharged? Or is it a diesel thing? And does it improve performance and/or Mpg? |

Ah, yes, it's a diesel thing really - the 4.4/4.2 does have an EGR valve but it doesn't cause such trouble and soot build up like the diesels.

Contacted BAS and asked if they sell a blanking kit for the TDV8; answer 'no sorry'. Very helpful I must say. So where does one get a kit from? Can't believe this is so hard to answer. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE |
