The confusion is LH RH are we talking LH from the back or front of the car I think that's what people are thinking. I'd say LH from the rear of the car. |

O/S and N/S are generally taken from sitting in Drivers Seat or Stood at Rear of Vehicle so Driver side R/H, Passenger Side L/H on R/H/D vehicle

update changed struts this morning fitting the red on the right and what a difference, so much better than the crap SGS struts, tail gate now lifts itself slowly, thanks for the info guys genuine struts is the way |

The tailgate on my 2010 facelift RRS is quite heavy to pull down at first and then shuts with enough force that I've never understood why there is a 'powerclose' feature. When opening you also have to use a fair amount of effort. Do I need new gas struts? |

i would say so, use genuine struts, i found that using aftermarket ones make things worse, |

Please make sure you support the tail gate with a length of timber before removing either strut |
