Yours is one of many substandard RRS coming out of the factory with faults i'm afraid. It doesn't seem to be getting any better either. Hence why a few of us have or are moving away from JLR vehicles. You can accept a fix, or reject the car with the new rules that came out in October. Is there any trace of the oil anywhere? On your drive? Splashed all over the underneath of your car? Etc etc. Hopefully this will be the only glitch you encounter, and you can enjoy it like you should be able to a new motor. |

I'd reject it. The chances are that damage will have been caused to a pump and perhaps other components somewhere. LR won't learn about quality if people keep accepting this sort of thing. LR shouldn't have let it out of the factory like that and the dealer should have picked up an empty reservoir at PDI. -poor on both accounts. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks for your replies and advice... My dealer went totally quiet on me, so I took legal advice. I am now locked in a rather unpleasant wrangle with Stratstone Mayfair and hoping to get a full refund |
