Rear and Front windscreen wipers reversed

My car went into Landrover to have an oil leaked fixed as well as new brake pads and discs, I found when I got the car back that when spraying water onto the front screen the front wipers do not wipe the water, the strange thing is the rear wiper wipes (both of these functions have been reversed, so I spray water onto the back window and the front windscreen wipers will wipe. Normal wiper actions have not been affected its just when water is sprayed. I assume something has been disconnected and either reconnected a plug the wrong way around or if its two separate plugs these have been switched.

I've got it booked into Landrover next week for them to take a look, but if there is anyone on here who knows if there is a quick fix for this (or where i should be looking) it would be much appreciated, saves me a 60 mile round trip to the dealers and a whole load of time. Thanks!!

I have a 3.0 2011 HSE.

Pipes the wrong way round. Thumbs Up

The bottle and pump are behind the bumper - accessed from the front left wheel arch. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Thanks for the quick reply, would it be the water pipe that have been reversed? The water is spraying on the correct screen it's the wiper action that's being reversed (sorry if I'm being a bit thick Very Happy )

There is no way they could connect the actual wiper stalk the wrong way as it is a multi-plug and will only fit one way. The other option is they have connected the washer pumps the wrong way round as you suggest, I don't know if this can be done or not as the plugs may be a different configuration. Saying that though nothing would surprise me with some of the dealer's so called technician's.

Yes, as Mikey says, the pipes have been put back on the wash bottle pump incorrectly. 2 minute job to sort. Happened to me when I had turbos replaced and they messed up replacing the body - several things not put back correctly. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Have I misunderstood this post or is the op saying the wipers work normally, however when he operates the rear screen washer it is the front wipers that work and visa versa, he doesn't actually say when operating the front washers it sprays on to the rear screen but refers to the wipers them self's when using the wash system. would that not be a electrical issue as opposed to reversed pipes. As I say I could be completely misunderstanding the post.

Cheers

I think you're right, Col. I initially read it as, the wipers work normally when operated separately; the water sprays onto the wrong window but the wipers operate as expected, but it seems that's not it. So, the washers are correct; the wipers are correct alone, but are reversed with the washers? Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
