OK an update; the next day, this morning, the car started with the fault present and then a short drive and the fault code disappeared. Got back home without any further problems.

Don't know if it's the fluid level, that happened to me one day under hard braking, it went of on ongine restart! It's something to do with the active cornering! Mine seems to be fine now! 2006 Java Black HST Supercharged |

If you look in the Owner's Handbook buried in the middle you'll find in the 'Maintenance' chapter a 'Technical Specifications' section and within that a 'lubricants and fluids' sub-section. Against 'Dynamic response fluid' you will find it states 'Texaco Cold Climate PAS fluid'. You can buy this at your nearest Land Rover Dealership or search on eBay and buy it from an on-line vendor, or order it from Duckworths. In typical Land Rover fashion of course it is labelled 'Land Rover Cold Climate Power Steering Fluid (no mention of Texaco). There is probably a generic equivalent but after hearing horror stories about the perils of using the wrong fluid and how it ruins the seals and trashes your system and costs £9k to fix it I ain't taking no chances for the sake of a £20 bottle of fluid!! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE |
