Hei all!

I have a problem with my car speedometer, all the gages,lcd and backlight dies and gomes right back sometimes longer 5 minutes, makes it very often. Some days are quite okay dont do it, and then starts again.

I had the same problem with mine. It started off only hapenning now and then. After a while it got more frequent and in the end it needed a new instrument cluster.

Do you buy immediately new or you ask someone to repair it before?

My local indie garage had a good look at it first.

They took it out and cleaned up any connections etc then put it back. It did seem to be a bit better after that for a while, but then got worse again.

I found a few places online who said they could refurbish the existing unit, but in the end I went with a new one for peace of mind

Do you buy secondhand or new part? How much was it?

It was new. I cant remember exactly but it was around £350 + installation. I think £500 in total (approx)

My speedo and rev counter needles were suffering intermittent lighting problems

Took it back to dealer, they had a look and then put a new instrument cluster in. There's a couple of other threads on here (I did a search when mine played up so was happy when the dealer diagnostics matched the experience on this forum)
