Engine smells

When the vehicle is hot, and at a standstill/creeping at low speeds, I am getting smells of "hot engine" in the cabin, must be underbonnet fumes getting into the ventilation intake. No problem at higher speeds.

Anyone had anything similar before? MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Do you do a fair amount of city/ stop start driving? Could be the DPF going through a regeneration cycle, a regeneration cycle can create some uinpleasant hot engine smells in slow moving traffic. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Not really, worst smells have been when I slow down after a motorway run, i.e. very hot engine. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
