Wheel choices

Having placed my order for an Autobiography this week it seems there is a distinct lack of choice when it comes to style of wheel. There are 2 styles exclusive to the SVR, 2 exclusive to the hybrid, another 3 only available to the stealth pack, one design is no longer an option, which leaves the 507 style or the split spoke in 21" or 22" . Basically a choice of 2 designs.

So does anybody know if the wheels are interchangeable between models such as the Full Fat range or Discovery range, to give more options ? And how would it affect the warranty ? MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I doubt that fitting OEM LR wheels would have any effect on your warranty, although going up to sizes that were not originally available may have an effect on it. Where you do have to be careful is make sure that you advise your insurers - some of the OEM wheels are a lot more expensive than what you get fitted on the production line when you buy them aftermaerket. For pre 2013MY car (ie the original RRS's) Discovery 3-4 wheels should fit unless you have Brembo brakes. Not all insurers are worried but some of the "discount" names like Direct etc will want more money from you. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The problem you have is that wheels are meticulously tuned to specific models so a wheel that is set up for a Disco almost certainly won't have the dynamic or ride capability of the wheels on your RRS. I don't know what the offset is on Discovery wheels anyway but I'd be wary of going down that route.
RR (L405) wheels will fit for the most part but again confirm offsets. At least you're coming off the same platform with that model.
I guess it depends on how picky you are regarding ride quality and dynamic performance.

Exactly the same argument stands for aftermarket wheels and tyres obviously

Dynamic or ride capability are fully garantied when you choose Range Rover dedicated wheels.
For example Hawke wheels do offer you I wide range of choices. Even the (safety) bolts and center caps are compatible!
Quality of these wheels is extremely good and no doubt they are very strong and do not influence ride quality at all.

Personalizing without making concessions!
Thumbs Up

I hadn't considered it from the dynamic point of view to be honest. It just seems that there should be more choices than the 2 designs on offer. I have seen a RRS2 a with what I now know are Full Fat wheels so just wondered what others would fit. Thanks for the replies MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

There are an awful lot of aftermarket suppliers out there who offer fantastic looking wheels but a good majority of them wouldn't meet our exacting standards.
I'm not saying Hawke wouldn't but we certainly don't test them; our Dynamics team simply don't have time.

What size rims and tyres have you got there CG?

The wheels are 22 inch Hawke Chayton's with the original Range Rover fitted Continental tires 275/40/22 ( Hawke also for Bentley).
They seem much bigger then the Style 504, but are the same size!
Ride quality is the same.

In the second picture we see a beautifully designed car...

When changing sizes even with the OEM wheels I think you need to ensure that the dealer changes the settings on the tyre pressure monitoring system too... Particularly if going from a 21"to 22"" wheel..

I've done and and love it! 22" Vogue Autobiography wheels on my sport from day 1 delivery day fitted by the dealer. Ask the dealer to take out the TPMS sensors from the standard wheels and fit them to the new wheels. Don't get new sensors as it proved a nightmare for me!

My car will only look like this in summer. Laughing The oem wheels are still here with winter tyres.
Both set of wheels have there own TPMS sensors. Ordered and installed on Vin number by a reliable wheel shop in Belgium.

I bow to your knowledge sir , but you know what I mean they have been dealing with landrover for years , there must be some mutual respect as I can't see them selling £100,000 + cars without the landrover warranty . Both companies seem to have a good stock / supply of new model cars .
