Osram replacement front FOG Lamps with DRL kit

Nice bit of kit just launched by Osram, price is as good as I can get at £190 inclusive....Due into stock soon

Fits Discovery, Freelander 2, Sport and many other cars

This new addition provides an LED Fog Light with an even light output;
the unit uses light guide technology for the DRL function and also incorporates assisted cornering (activated when indicating)
This standard sized FOG DRL fixture has been designed to replace most modern halogen fog lamps and is the first on the market to incorporate assisted cornering. The FOG DRL creates a wide beam angle providing an increased vision on the road ahead in poor weather conditions.
When the FOG lights are not in use the DRL function is activated enabling drivers to be seen by other road users more easily.

I like the look of these and might be tempted - anyone else fitted them - if so was it difficult Bow down

Also because mines so new what's the opinion on warranty issues after fitting accessories - any bad experiences Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

None sold yet, stock arrives next week although someone on Freel2 has fitted a set from somewhere else (German import I guess)

Couple of links on the D3 - http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic102948.html

Youtube fitment and the Freel2 chap.

Warranty - what could these be blamed for? Osram are an OEM provider I can't think you would have any issues unless poor electrical connections are made. Paul Redding

Cheers Steve - I will take a look and get back to you Thumbs Up

My worry on warranty is knowing how temperamental LR electrics are they may use the aftermarket lights as a get out clause Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Been a little busy but got them sorted this afternoon, whilst they are plug and play as such they need a little help to fit on the Discovery, (possibly same issue with earlier Sport later bumper should be fine)

Pics from earlier today showing my old light with Halo ring (that we sell) and a new light in place, then through the functions...

OLD

NEW

DRL - ENGINE RUNNING LIGHTS OFF

LEFT HAND INDICATING - DRL ON

RIGHT HAND INDICATING - DRL ON

They flash with the indicators on lock and unlock and have the delayed off that follow me home lights have, they work as cornering lamps whilst indicating with a fade off (when headlamps are on) Paul Redding

Thats very disappointing that they don't fit without faffing around. Whistle There's no way i'm drilling and sanding the bumper on my motor just to make them fit. I prefer things made to fit first time everytime. Thanks for the honest step by step fitting guide though.

Matter of whether you want them or not - 2 holes to drill where they cant be seen and a clip on trim to be modified, hardly too much effort! Paul Redding

No clip on trim on mine so would presumably mean modifying bumper Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
