Have you checked the terminals?.....may have a corrosion problem or an iffy contact.

I had the lamp unit completely off the car and unplugged

.....sounds like a wobbly cable in the back of plug socket.

You might want to check the earthing point nearest to the offending tailight. Usually it's like a captive bolt with several wire terminals and a nut holding them on - worth cleaning up any corrosion. 2011 TDV6 HSE Stornoway grey, ivory trim

It's the full unit with the led's built in doesn't look aftermarket and not individual bulbs. I will check in the morning take the unit out again and look at each wire Cheers |

Thanks for that tip I will take the unit out tomorrow and trace the wires back to find an earth point. |
