Yes, the blue is great but difficult to keep clean. In the spring sunshine, it shows every mark and there's certainly a lot of car to wash and leather off. I'm wondering whether mud-flaps will stop the back getting so filthy. Mind you, it is that time of year. I've only seen the SVR in white (no thanks) and reviewed in corris grey (ditto) and in red (looks good) and advertised in black (not sure). What other colours does that leave? Indus and one other which I can't remember. Edit: oh yes, scotia grey. Would like to understand the mindset of someone choosing that but each to their own. Reminds me too much of the blanket cloud cover here at the Goodwood 73MM today. Mark SVR in Estoril Blue |

I can see the point of having your SVR in Estoril as it cannot be mistaken for any other version in the range. I also don't see the point of having any sporty car in black or white. Red/Yellow/Vivid green or any "in your face" colour. Scotia is actually a very nice colour, but too insipid for an SVR. I had a 2005 RRS in a similar shade but it was then called Giverny Green. The only comment I ever got about is was "Wow that is a nice colour in the flesh, is it one of the optional Autobiography paints?" No it was a standard metallic! I'm a little surprised that the SVR isn't offered in the metallic Phoenix Orange that Discovery Sport HSE Lux, Evoque Autobiography and the Defender 110 Adventure Final Edition are offered in. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

First pricing through for the 22s - the rims, list price, are £900 each including VAT.

I have to confess I haven't yet tried the automated parking for fear of kerbing my wheels. The reverse traffic detection is great as is the all-round sensor display but the rims are vulnerable and expensive and I'm not sure how repairable they will be if they get scuffed with (on the 21s at least) the polished surfaces right out to the edge. OTOH, I'm naturally attracted by the Continental tyre-tech.

Don't have a price for those yet, my guess is the £2400 option price (IIRC) is probably evenly split between the extra cost of the rims, the tyres and the spats. Maybe, so I'm thinking about £800 painted and fitted. The side protection strips are £450 painted and fitted, so that sort of fits.

I have the reverse traffic detection on my Evoque and having it meant that I couldn't fit the rear mud flaps, may be the same with the spats required for the 22" wheels. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, I wondered the same but with the longer rear overhang of the RRS, the sensor is fitted further back which should leave space for mud-flaps. The mud-flap situation for the SVR is a bit confused, so I am going to be interested to see how Sally gets on with hers and certainly hope her dealer doesn't come back with, errrr, they don't fit.

The issue was that the rear mudflaps for the standard car do not fit the SVR because the profile of the rear bumper is different but hopefully the SVR specific ones are now ready. Mark

The cost of the 22s - wheels, tyres, TPMS valves and centre caps has come out at £4460, so they are on their way. The spats, if I decide I need them, are £180 a side plus painting and fitting. That last bit worries me because they have to be on straight. I expect there's a special jig at the factory to do it right.
