Help all sorts gone wrong

Set of to Whitby today and the car started to smell of egg, got there ok and locked the car and the alarm went off, took awhile after closing and opening all doors and bonnet so of we went for fish and chips , came back four hours later to a flat battery, the car park attendant said the alarm had started to go off about ten minutes after we walked away, rac called sent a contractor who jump stared the car,

This was the first problem just after it was jump started, he's used a portable charger to do it

Transmission fault limited gears, drove home with what seemed like 2nd and 3rd gear

Got back to home and this thing has lit up like Blackpool pleasure beach, now we have this on the info screen.

Suspension fault vehicle lean when cornering
Hdc fault system not available
Dsc fault special program's not available
Yellow engine light fault

Turned it of and now it won't turn over at all, the battery's ok as the headlights etc come on

Can anyone shed any light on what this maybe

Tia

Tony

Sounds like the battery to me. The fact that the headlights come on doesn't mean that it's good enough to run the vehicle with. Be worth giving it a decent charge with a smart charger. Once you get it running, check the voltage to see what the alternator is putting out. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

He checked and said the battery was ok but the alternator only giving 12.5, just removed the battery and it seems to be leaking and strangely I think its bowing on both ends as if its over pressured , could this be the smell in the car maybe, I'll get anew battery tomorrow then go from there, but all advice greatly received

Your alternator is frying the battery. Get that swapped before you ruin the next battery. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

The egg smell you mentioned will be from the battery failing. It's created hydrogen sulphide gas. Nasty stuff. If you still have the battery then store it outside (or somewhere well ventilated). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

It's been removed now, I've done a bit of digging and it could be the instument panel, I'll test it tomorrow, apparently holding in the button on the instrument panel and starting the car indicates a faulty instrument cluster, I'll report back tomorrow Thumbs Up
